I am training to help someone with a phyical disability, seizures or is hearing impaired. I have to be exposed to many different places sounds & people to be a success.
This weekend I went to a camp for stroke survivors. I don't know what that means but I know I had fun. I ran along the beach. Had a camp fire. Met the local wildlife. Got lots of pets & practiced my "under" and meal times. Worked on controlled greetings. Control is relative when you're 14 weeks old. I am getting the hang of it slowly. Haven't mastered the "paw" thing yet. I tend to get a little excited with all the action around me.We did arts & crafts. I helpedThat doggy in the window wouldn't play.I even got some off duty time to play with some kids.I made many new friends along the way.
I have another new friend. Her name is Chai. She is 11 weeks old. We go to class together.
I also discovered the bathtub is a fun place to get a drink when Mom is taking a shower. Aussie likes to peek behind the curtain to make sure Mom is okay. I thought I would just go right in to find out for myself. Boy was she surprised!
I'm am growing like a weed. At 14 weeks I am over 27 lbs. My feet are still big but other thing seem to be shrinking.
I've got a new girlfriend in the neighborhood. Her name is Bree. A younger woman- 8 weeks. We went to her house for a play date. She was a little nervous at first but then we ran and played. Aussie liked her but didn't want to sit between 2 puppies with sharp teeth.
Mom took me to Moomers. She got to eat some good smelling stuff. I got to taste the cone when she was done. There were these smelly things called cows. I didn't get too close.
We went to a place call Frankfort first. I could smell the water but we didn't get close
Next I went to a place called Lake Michigan. The ground felt funny on my feet. It kept moving and it tasted kind of gritty. I wasn't so sure about that cold water. I tried to chase a stick but the water took it away. Aussie was swimming deep but I decided to stay close to Mom.
There was a nice lighthouse called Pointe Betsy. I had to stop for a pose.
I am a labrador retriever training to be a service dog for Paws With A Cause. Maggie, my mother is breeding stock for PAWS. My daddy is a show dog named Logan. I was born April 13th 2009. Keep checking back for my adventures on the way to becoming service dog.
