Marley News

My brother is training for a new job!

PAWS is proud to be working with the Oakland Police Academy K-9 Training Center! Change-of-career dog Marley entered the testing phase at the Academy yesterday and then will move on to the pre-service phase of Narcotic K9 training. He will be trained to detect cocaine, marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine and methamphetamine. We received notice today that Marley is adjusting well to his surroundings and Bob, the Canine Coordinator, is excited to work with him.
Marley is just one example of the great dogs that may not be suitable for Assistance Dog training, but can excel in a working capacity in other ways. Great job, Marley! We're proud of you!
